What is the Switch Used on Dreambox
If you are a fan of satellite TV programs, you will be familiar with the Dreambox. If you know Dreambox a lot, you are sure to know the switch used on Dreambox. As we all know, the most popular switch used on Dreambox now must be the DiSEqC switch. However, the DiSEqC switch is not the only one Dreambox can use; there are more types of switches. The most basic receiver is the analog signal receiver and this kind of receiver uses only a modulate frequency input interface and the voltage of the Low Noise Block is fixed to 15 volt. This kind of receiver can only receive the TV channels polarized in one way (Circular Polarization or Horizontal Liner Polarization or Vertical Liner Polarization). Then some of the fans developed the input surface to a switch which can alter in 13 volt or 18 volt. The 13/18V switch is still very simple and if we use this switch, we can only receive the signal polarized vertically or horizontally. Later, the single – polarization LNB developed to the dual – polarization LNB. This kind of LNB equipped with the 13/18V switch and it benefits the fans a lot because this kind of LNB realized the way of two types of polarization in and one kind of signal out. But the 13/18V switch can't deal with two dual – polarization LNBs. If we want to receive the channels on two satellites, we have to use the 0/22 KHz switch. It can switch in two signals provided by two dual – polarization LNBs. However, there comes the Dual Local Oscillator LNB in the development of satellite TV system and then the 0/22 KHz switch again has the same problem as the 13/18V switch. Then, the technician developed the DiSEqC switch. The DiSEqC signal is a kind of digital signal modulated from 22 KHz switch or LNB. It is the best digital switch which proofs every kind of effect. The DiSEqC switch can switch on 4 LNB/22KHz switches. If you want to choose the proper switch for your Dreambox, you have to choose the 4 way DiSEqC 1.0 switch first, than the 0/22 KHz switch. If you want to switch in different satellites, you can combine the different switches to one satellite receiver. One satellite receiver can at most receive 32 way signal if the signal is polarized in one way. Sometimes, the switching process may not be agile, that is because the DiSEqC switch doesn't suit for the receiver. Try to buy the DiSEqC switch produced by famous manufacturers.

Are liner pol and circular pol LNBs two different?? can a liner pol lnb works with circular pol signal ?? if no why?
No they are not interchangable, unless stated. The problem is in the refraction point for either don't coinside with another.
